What as classed as vintage?

it is generally thought that anything from the 1920's to the 1960's is vintage.

The 20's was the age of elegant dresses and accessories. The era was generally know as the Twenties or the Roaring Twenties and the most recognized symbol is probably the flapper girl who was attention seeking, flamboyant, decadent and glamorous, she had bobbed hair and wore the familiar short skirted dress with ankle strapped shoes and diamante purses.

We are not suggesting our customers are all of the above but know that she is glamorous and to some extent flamboyant.

During the previous decades shoes were hidden by long dresses that were fashionable at the time.  However, as the hem line got shorter and shorter the 1920 young lady wore more decorative shoes with sturdy Louis heels which were about 2" high.  The Flappers wore t-bar styles which were ideal for the Charleston.

Number 39 stocks a range of shoes called Ruby Shoo which has the vintage look with matching handbags.
