Mother’s Day

Posted by Joyce Pearce at

Mother’s Day or more traditionally known as Mothering Sunday was once a date on which Christians would visit their ”Mother” church. Domestic servants were given the day off to return to their hometowns and worship with their families. On their way home they would pick wild flowers to place in the church or give to their mums.
The day has evolved, and now the celebration is held to honour Mums and Maternal figures - for families and friends to recognise and show appreciation for hard working, loving Mums and special women across the country.
So here’s a small selection of the special gifts (starting from as little as £4.99) that we have at Number 39. Come in and choose a perfect present for this Mother’s Day, Sunday 11th March.
